Dhyani Widiyanti Hendranto, a mother of a teenage girl also known as Dhyani Hendranto Indonesian born has lived and been living in Europe, Australia and Asia. Currently living in Sydney. Her profession is artist in especially contemporary craft art and is the founder of ZHOOBA DESIGN, her commercial art which belongs to the creative industry of exclusive art objects, especially “jewelry art”. Armed with a keen interest in the world of women, classical culture, humanity and art, Dhyani studied Indonesian Archaeology, gold and silversmithing technology and also was conferred a master degree in concentration urban art creation and industrial culture.
She studied metal technology at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürnberg Germany where she finds the the relationship of useful simplistic, clean-lined designs. This was then continued by lessons in traditional metal technology at the Bangalore Institute of Technology in India which is dubbed as “the goddes country of metalworks”. Her experiences enrich the processes in the creation of her works which are diverse and possess specific characteristics due to the multi-cultural influences. She conducted exhibitions in several countries and carried out research in different communities of women and currently returns to Indonesia to study the gender perspective of the Javanese women found in the objects of craft for a forthcoming doctoral work in Australia.
